It was a big 2011 for Netflix–a lot has been happening in the DVD, movie, and video world, but Netflix has been especially busy. Here’s a quick rundown of what Netflix has been up to–most importantly, we want to hear what you think!
- Netflix (NFLX) stock was up a nearly a whopping 50% as the year began. Despite some naysayers, Netflix was signing up customers like crazy and Wall Street listened.
- A bunch of licensing deals for content were announced with Miramax and CBS.
- Netflix increased their prices and attempted to separate their DVD and streaming business.
- Quickster was announced and abruptly killed
- The company reduced financial guidance and said it would lose money in 2012.
- The stock dropped from over $300 to about $70.
Well what do you think of Netflix not that the dust has finally settled?

We’re very disappointed with the streaming movie choices. We will probably cancel. Come on netflix get with it. You should charge a few dollars more a month and include the more current and older and more popular movies to stream.
Come on NETFLIX. Where are you guys going. I’m willing to pay $10.00 If the choices were better. After watching a show from first to last season its hard to find the next show to watch. I will love it if before each show maybe 4 30 second trailer of another shows or movies. Hey what the hell throw in a commercial after the trailer but not after the show or movie begins, if a commercial shows up in the middle of a show or movie,I’M GONE!
Lillyhammer was great hope you have more. How about a few ideas, continuing the show sliders or maybe a show thats blends 2009 Push and 2008 Jumper. One more. How about a blend of Supernatural t.v. show and the movie the Time Travelers Wife. Thanks NETFLIX for the ear.
I’m happy with netflix, when I’ve had a problem they’ve taken care of it without hesitation. One time my DVD was defffective I called and they sent another one to me while I mailed it back.
You guys have taken care of me without problems. One time you exchanged a defective DVD while I mailed it back,I’m very happy with your service.
I have gotten a lot of movies that ared damaged and cannot play. Should be tested before you send them out. Also foreign films most I cannot pick up all of the print at the bottom of the movie so it makes them impossible to comprehend what going on…..
Love Netflix! Never had a problem with anything at all which I’m thankful for. When I need to contact customer service everyone is so friendly the way it should be. You can watch any movie you want for the cheap price and just to think it cost $6 for 3 days to rent from Blockbuster. I’m so glad Netflix is here and by the way you guys blew Blockbuster right out of the water!! Their dont even exist anymore lol..Way to go Netflix!
really now. signed up again for netflix and have yet to be able to get beyond the “Silverlight” download that seems to be required for viewing. seems netflix has been had by microsoft? maybe. all i know is i have not yet been able to access any movies or television programs. really bad public relations and marketing issues boys (and girls).
could you please be quicker than red box with new movies we watch movies at the ymca housing on fridays and we need some up to date new releases i have dvd’s come to my house so i can bring them in ymca only has streaming we like it
While netflix may be the best of the services,it has,for me fundemental flaws that make it imperative for me to look into other services. The flaws are not all Netflix fault,i’m sure.I do not like the fact that I can not simply request films that I”m interested in as i could if I were doing this by snail mail. For example,i know that Johnny Cash put out several tv appearences in westerns and i would like to see them.Soetimes i fall asleep or get distracted and would like to be able to fast foreward or replay things i might otherwise miss-for example i lost the ending of the last film i saw.It is a good service and I think it’s serving a real service, but i am bothered by these factors and i am sure the other programs have the same or different problems of their own.
