Last fall, Netflix.com suffered a huge outage keeping millions of customers from streaming their favorite movies and TV shows. Customers were all over Twitter with Netflix complains and asked for refunds. Fortunately for customers, Netflix offered a pro-rated refund, meaning that for the period in which Netflix was down, the company offered a refund that amounted to 2-3% off your monthly bill. Not enough you might ask? Agreed! We asked our Netflix phone rep for an entire month off–we’re still working on getting that.
Below is a screenshot of a Netflix email that shows the 3% credit off the next billing statement. Put it in perspective–hours of not being able to watch Netflix and the company will only provide us $3 for the month. As much as we love Netflix, that is simply not acceptable. Did you get a refund?
